Weekly Workout Recap

I don’t know if it’s that the weather is finally somewhat changing or that the days are getting shorter, but I’ve needed extra motivation to get my workouts in lately. I think I really need to become a morning runner. The past couple weeks I’ve gotten up early to get my long run in on Saturday, and I’ve absolutely loved it. It’s easier for me to get out the door before I can think about any distractions. Now if only I could get up earlier during the week…

Monday: Barre class! I love going to barre classes. The workouts are tough without being too overpowering and I always feel  great after going to one.

Tuesday: Rest. I was going to go for a run after work, but my body felt exhausted so I decided to make it a rest day.

Wednesday: 4 mile run. I have a half marathon coming up that I haven’t really done any speed work for so I decided to use this as a tempo run. My splits were: 9:59, 8:48, 8:45, 9:12. Exactly what I had in mind, which made me feel pretty good :).

Thursday: I was feeling pretty tight so I did a quick online yoga session.

Friday: I was going to go for a three mile run, but I went out for a drink instead. Whoops.

Saturday: 11 miles. I felt pretty good during this run. I recently discovered listening to podcasts while I run. I love it because it’s new information and not a song I’ve heard a million times so I really concentrate on what I’m listening to, and less about my legs being tired :).  Average pace: 9:38/ mile.

Sunday- Rest.

The goal this week is to get in one or two more barre classes this week and another run.
