I am so happy for the short work week, I really need it! We’re heading to the Berkshires Thursday morning to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family. I’m really looking forward to it, I hope these three days go by quickly!
On to the weekly workout recap. I ran a half marathon yesterday (recap coming soon!), so I took it really easy with my workouts this week. A lot of rest and stretching.
Monday: Barre class. What a great way to start the week. They started a holiday challenge, 21 classes by New Year’s. That’s about 3 classes a week. I’m going to see if I can do it. I’ll miss a couple days due to traveling this week, but I’m hoping to take a few extra classes in the upcoming weeks.
Tuesday: Group run, 4.65 miles. My watch didn’t sync to GPS before we started again. For whatever reason, my watch doesn’t like this section of the city. For the miles I did get, I had an average pace of 8:47/mile.
Wednesday: Rest day. I did some stretching while catching up on Jane the Virgin. 🙂
Thursday: Another rest day. We went to the Celtics vs Golden State game, so there wasn’t time to workout. But it was an AMAZING game, so worth it. 🙂
Friday: Stretch. I would love to finish the week with a yoga class, but I haven’t been able to find a studio with a time that would work for me. But I’m still on the search.
Saturday: I did another barre class to warm up my legs for my race the next day. I usually do a shake out run before a race, but I know some people don’t, so I was giving that a try. I’m not sure it affected my race either way.
Sunday: Half marathon! It was a rainy day and a muddy course. Average pace was 9:44/mile. Not my best race, but I’m still glad I did it. I’ll post a recap later this week!
With the upcoming holidays, it’s going to be a struggle to be consistent, so that is one thing I am going to focus on as we finish up 2017. I may take it easy this week to rest my body, but after that, it’s go time! 🙂
